1% of revenue. Not 1% of profit after deductions — 1% of what you invoice.
Small Business Status is a tax status granted by the Georgian Revenue Service, applied for on top of an Individual Entrepreneur registration. It is the part that produces the 1%: register an IE without it and you are taxed at ordinary personal rates.
Because the tax is charged on turnover rather than profit, there are no expense receipts to keep, no depreciation schedules, and no arguments about whether a laptop was a business purchase. For a service business billing foreign clients, nothing else in the region comes close.
How Small Business Status works- 1% flat taxOn gross turnover up to ₾500,000 a year.
- 0% VAT on foreign incomeServices invoiced outside Georgia.
- No residency requirementYou do not have to live here.
- No minimum capitalNothing to deposit, nothing to lock up.

The part nobody warns you about
Every registered Georgian business files with the Revenue Service every month — including months with no income, with automatic penalties for missing the 15th. Add reverse VAT on anything you buy from abroad, and compliance is where most foreign founders actually get caught. This is the rest of it.
Accounting
Monthly bookkeeping, tax declarations and compliance, handled by English-speaking accountants.
Business bank account
Multi-currency corporate accounts at Georgian banks, usually approved the same day.
Virtual office
A legal registered address in Tbilisi without renting office space.
Customs brokerage
Licensed import and export clearance at every Georgian port and border crossing.
Tax consulting
Structure, residency and cross-border planning — from the 1% rate to multi-jurisdiction setups.

Tax advice from someone who has done this for thirteen years
Structure questions go to Levan directly, not to a sales team. He handles the free consultation himself, on the basis that the person who has to live with the answer should be the one giving it.
Fixed fees, quoted upfront
Every price on this site is the price. No hourly creep, no "it depends" invoice at the end.
Registered in three days
An Individual Entrepreneur with 1% status takes three days from the first call. We go to the Public Service Hall with you.
We carry the filing risk
On our accounting packages, liability for filing errors transfers to us. If we get a declaration wrong, that is ours to fix.
English, start to finish
Georgian bureaucracy runs in Georgian. Every conversation you have with us runs in English.

Frequently asked
1% of gross turnover, up to 500,000 GEL a year, if you register as an Individual Entrepreneur with Small Business Status. Above that cap the rate becomes 3% for the rest of the year. There are no deductions to track, because the tax is charged on revenue rather than profit.
Yes. There is no residency requirement, no local director requirement and no local ownership requirement. A foreign national can own 100% of a Georgian LLC or register as an Individual Entrepreneur, and can do either without ever becoming a Georgian tax resident.
Three days for an Individual Entrepreneur with Small Business Status, three to five business days for an LLC, if you are in the country. Registering remotely under Power of Attorney takes two to four weeks, most of which is notarisation and apostille at your end.
₾600 for an Individual Entrepreneur with Small Business Status, ₾1,200 for an LLC with up to two shareholders. Both are fixed fees covering government charges, tax registration and accompaniment at the Public Service Hall. A registered address, if you need one, is ₾390 a year.
An IE with Small Business Status if you are a solo service business with low costs and turnover under 500,000 GEL — the 1% rate is hard to beat. An LLC if you have partners, are reinvesting profit rather than drawing it, need liability separation, or your activity is excluded from the 1% regime.
No. Registration and tax residency are separate things. You need a Georgian legal address for the business, which the virtual address service provides, but there is no requirement that you live in the country. Tax residency is a separate test based on 183 days of presence.
Yes. Every registered business files a declaration with the Revenue Service each month, including months with no income, by the 15th. Penalties are automatic. Filing runs through the rs.ge portal, which is in Georgian — which is why most foreign founders use an accountant.
If you buy services from outside Georgia — hosting, software subscriptions, a foreign contractor — you must declare and pay 18% Georgian VAT on that purchase, even if you are not VAT registered. It catches nearly every new business here, and it is declared monthly.
Yes, with a registered Georgian business and a valid passport. Multi-currency accounts in GEL, USD and EUR are standard and most banks charge no monthly fee. Remote opening is the hard part — banks generally want the signatory present in the branch.
Georgian law excludes a defined list including licensed and regulated professions such as medical, legal and audit work, gambling, and currency or securities dealing. It turns on your registered activity codes rather than your job title, and we check yours before you pay anything.
